OBJECTIVE:

At The Marketing Store, interns are assigned the task to create a Bring Your Family to Work Day event. This event includes creating an identity system, designing promotional and other event-related items, as well as coordinating and creating activities.

SOLUTION:

Keeping in mind The Marketing Store’s theme of getting closer, going to a new location, scouting what a brother, sister, or parent does at work inspired the idea of a new adventure. This thought process led the to the idea of a camping theme. The camping theme was incorporated throughout the identity system as well as all promotional materials and decorations for the event.

STAGE ONE: IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT

In the first stage of the project, an identity system was established in order to create a brand for Bring Your Family to Work Day. The concept behind the logo was to create a badge that a family member would be eager to earn. The logo incorporates multiple camping elements and a mascot was also designed to exhibit at the event.

STAGE TWO: INVITATIONS

During the second stage, I designed the invitations for employees to take home to their families. The concept was to create tents that could not only stand on the desk to catch attention, but to also be interactive for children to enjoy opening when they were brought home.

STAGE THREE: EVENT MATERIALS

During the third stage, our creative team worked together to develop event materials. This included name tags for the children, activity books, posters, photo cut outs, and various decorations to stage around the office.

STAGE FOUR: DAY OF THE EVENT

Camp TMS turned out to be a huge success! Our attendance included a record breaking 48 children and 43 adults. The day included multiple activities for the children that corresponded to activities in their activity book. The adults attended presentations about the agency and went on a tour around the office.
